SPHEREx Observatory Ready for Major Thermal Vacuum Test

SPHEREx observatory installed in the Titan Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) test Chamber at BAE Systems in Boulder, CO. The spacecraft and photo shield are covered in multi-layer insulation and blankets, and also surrounded by ground support equipment as part of the test set up. Rehearsing for the Big Moment

During payload testing, the SPHEREx team prepared for launch and post-launch operations. In October 2024, we conducted the first Operational Readiness Test (ORT), simulating nominal launch and post-launch events. Such tests validate the adequacy of our procedures and training for mission success.
